A thermistor, or thermally sensitive resistor, is a
resistor which changes resistance in response to a change in temperature.
There are two basic types of thermistors, NTC or Negative Temperature
Coefficient and PTC or Positive Temperature Coefficient thermistors. NTC
thermistors exhibit a decrease in resistance when temperature rises. PTC
thermistors exhibit an increase in resistance when temperature rises. QTI
manufacturers both PTC and NTC thermistors in a broad selection of package

Thermistors
An AS9100
company, QTI manufactures Mil-Spec and Space Level thermistors for high
cost of failure applications. QTI's (hi-rel) high reliability thermistors
are built to meet or exceed the requirements of MIL-PRF 23648, MIL-PRF
32192 and the NASA GSFC S-311-P-827 specifications. Quality Thermistor

NASA GSFC spec! QTI was the first thermistor manufacturer to work with the
Defense Supply Center Columbus to develop a new Military specification
M32192. Now, in conjunction with the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, it
has developed a new specification for high cost of failure NTC and PTC
thermistor temperature sensors!
